There are times in every one of our lives when sharing the burden of personal struggle becomes a needed resource to find. Counseling/therapy provides the safe space to find the inner strength and resiliency to overcome and move forward with life. Contact for more information at 253-315-2139 (call or text)
I believe strongly in the ability of the relational bond of counseling to explore the Values of our shared humanity, expand on the Narratives currently blinding us to our potential and learn to express ourselves in Behavior that is life-giving. We can learn to remove the debilitating effects of shame, depression and anxiety. These effects can be generated through unhealthy relationships and attachments, often involving family of origin (FOO), group indoctrination and major life transitions. I believe with encouragement and guidance, you can be free from these limited personal stories to move forward into a greater expression of yourself.
This relational view of personal growth is at the heart of the practice at Life Weavings. Interpersonal dynamics and the framework of Relational-ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) serve as the structure for facing uncertainty, anger, fear and despair.
The principles here support the process of therapy (Values-Narrative-Behavior) to live a more integrally engaged life:
- My Values direct attention to what is important to me.
- I evaluate my experiences and determine my behavior through a self-narrative or perspective.
- Every perspective is constructed through the relationships that form my interconnected life.
- My behavior is a response to circumstance and can be changed by expanding my perspective.
